Common-mode (bearing) current can have disastrous effects on induction motors, leading to electric fluting and premature bearing failure. Conventional sine wave filters introduce substantial common mode noise that will damage the motor. Some companies even sell common mode filters to reduce the noise produced by their very own sine wave filters. That’s just not right. Due to our patented designs, CTM Magnetics sine wave filters don’t require common mode noise protection because they introduce no additional common mode noise.
