CTM Sine Wave Filters Don’t Create Common Mode Noise
Conventional sine wave filters introduce a substantial amount of common mode noise. Common-mode (bearing) current can have disastrous effects on induction motors, leading to electric fluting and premature bearing failure. As a result, many companies purchase common mode filters to reduce the level of common mode current. Ironically, some manufacturers sell common mode filters to reduce the noise produced by their own sine wave filters. That’s just not right. However, there is a better option. CTM Magnetics sine wave filters don't require common mode noise protection because they introduce no additional common mode noise.
CTM Magnetics offers sine wave filters that do not introduce common-mode currents.
To illustrate, below is a graph comparing the common mode noise produced by three different sine wave filters. This is actual measured field data provided by a customer. Stop compromising on filters that introduce more common mode noise. Better solutions exist today. Choose CTM.
