CTM HighSine™ & FlexSine® Filters
Terminology:
VFD (THD OUT): The total harmonic distortion coming out of the variable frequency drive. The higher the percentage, the more damaging the distortion is. A low percentage typically indicates a significant drive derate and additional cost.
SWF: Sine wave filter used to reduce the VFD (THD OUT).
Motor (THD IN): The total harmonic distortion that the motor sees. The higher the percentage, the more damaging it is to the motor.
Common Mode: The worse the waveform looks, the higher the amount of additional common mode noise.
Size: The total size of the motor drive system.
VFD ($): The capital cost of the variable frequency drive.
SWF ($): The capital cost of the sine wave filter.
Motor ($): The capital cost of the motor.
Power ($): The operating cost to power the motor drive system.
Cost to End User ($): The total capital cost of the motor drive system.
